Kuala Lumpur, 10 January 2012 – The Chevrolet Captiva has captured the love of many for years and now it seems that it is officially being recognized as a fan favourite with its latest title; Best SUV/Crossover conferred by the Shell V-Power Autoworld Car Of The Year (COTY) 2011 Awards.
The Chevrolet Captiva proved a strong winner with its European inspired styling and impressive driving dynamics which left judges with no doubts of its strengths and stellar quality.
The SUV was first introduced to the Malaysian market in 2007 and has since become one of the top sellers in the premium SUV space. A year after its debut, the Chevrolet Captiva had been classed as ‘SUV of the Year’ by NST-CBT Car of the Year Awards 2008 and its diesel version earned top honours in the ‘Compact SUV’ category at the Asian Auto Bosch Fuel Efficiency Awards 2008.
More recently in August 2011, NAZA Quest Sdn Bhd (exclusive importer and distributor of Chevrolet in Malaysia) launched the revamped petrol version of the Captiva with a fresh, sleek appearance and improved performance that has secured the attention of Malaysians in the market for a versatile and luxurious SUV suitable for any modern family. The highly anticipated diesel version of this rejuvenated Captiva will be arriving on Malaysian soil by the end of February 2012.
“The Chevrolet Captiva has always been one of the most dearly loved SUVs of recent times, and now the revitalized new model has more heads turning than ever before. Meeting the expectations and desires of our customers will always be the guiding factor for NAZA Quest and we will continue to provide the local market with options that are a great fit for all,” stated Datuk Wira Hj SM Faisal Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin, Joint Group Executive Chairman of NAZA Group of Companies.
The latest Captiva comes with flexi seat with 7 seats and additional features such as; air conditioning system with remote switch, electric parking brake, 6-speed tiptronic A/T with Eco Mode, Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Traction Control System (TCS) which aid drivers dealing with poor driving conditions. The Hill Descent Control System (HDCS) is ideal for steep slopes whilst Hill Start Assist (HSA) allows the driver time to reach the accelerator pedal after releasing the footbrake. Hydraulic Brake Assist (HBA) is perhaps most helpful for dealing with Malaysian traffic as it detects applied brake force during emergency braking, responding by increasing braking pressure.
The current retail price for the Chevrolet Captiva is RM158, 888 and is available at all Chevrolet showrooms nationwide.
